Prohibition of driving in the city center?

At the beginning I admit that it is a good idea. I live in a big city, and every day I am in the city center, so I know that such a ban can give you a lot of good. For example I'll give the city of Poznan. Every day, thousands of people commute from further parts of the city to the center, to work or to school. Unfortunately, a large portion of people choose to reach by car. The streets form a big traffic jams and travel time is longer. It is not economical and ecological. Car exhaust fumes pollute our environment. Long waiting in traffic really annoys people. They are nervous and in such a situation they can easily cause a traffic accident. Parking in the city center are paid, so it increases the costs of people who choose a car. I belong to people who commute to the city center by public transport. It is really well developed in our city. Monthly ticket price without discounts and so it is lower than the price of monthly parking in the parking lot. Therefore there is no problem of finding parking spaces. If people have learned to ride public transportation in the city would be more quiet, clean and calmer. Public transportation would have more money for its development, could be made more frequently plying the crowded line. Comfort during your journey in tram or bus would be better. Even commuters from outside the city could choose public transport. Rather than commute by car to the center, leave your car in parking at bus stops or loops on the outskirts of the city. I think that the ban on driving cars in the city center has a lot of advantages and the city authorities should consider how to improve traffic in the city for people, so they could choose public transport and leave their cars for trips on the outskirts.

  1. I am definitely for the idea of diminishing private car traffic in the downtown area of Poznań. I would be happy to leave my car and use public transport provided that the quality of buses and trams is better. And that they run on time along their usual routes without any surprises. I wonder how many people are interested in the public bike rental service. Is it popular among students for example? I bet it is still too expensive. What do you think?
